9/5: 18TH ANNUAL TASTE OF BLOUNT. Theater in the Park, Maryville. 6-8 p.m.

9/6: MUSIC OF THE MOUNTAINS. Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, Townsend. The Heritage Center presents Good Thymes Ceilidh Band on stage at the GSMHC Amphitheater. Concert to begin at 7 pm, rain or shine – Bring a chair.

9/6-7: GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS HALF MARATHON & 5K. Through the “Peaceful Side of the Smokies.”

9/12: GATLINBURG’S 22ND ANNUAL TASTE OF AUTUMN. Gatlinburg Convention Center.  A fun-filled night packed with delicious food from area restaurants and featuring music from one of America’s finest Eagles tribute bands, On The Border!. 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

9/12-14: FALL ROD RUN. Pigeon Forge. A spectacular 3-day event for any car enthusiast! $8000.00 cash giveaway, Top 25 awards, Ultimate 5 awards, and King of the Hill. Huge swap meet with hundreds of show cars and car corral.

9/20-21: FALL CRAFT FAIR. CAM Cabin Crafts, Wears Valley, Townsend.  10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Artisans will feature handcrafted items ranging from traditional Appalachian handcrafts to more modern one-of-a-kind pieces.

9/27-28: TOWNSEND FALL FESTIVAL AND OLD TIMERS DAY. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy genuine bluegrass music, arts and crafts, food, and Fall festivities for the entire family at the Townsend Visitor’s Center.

9/27-11/2: DOLLYWOOD’S HARVEST FESTIVAL. Events include The Great Pumpkin LumiNights and Southern Gospel Jubilee, the Harvest Festival, and take a walk through Timber Canyon to see beautiful pumpkin sculptures and fall scenes.

9/28: BLUE RIBBON COUNTRY FAIR. Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, Townsend. Celebrating 13 years of Blue Ribbon Traditions: competitive exhibits (poultry, vegetables, produce, canning, baked goods, honey show, woodworking, floral design and horticulture, photography  & student art). Participate in various contests that include hog calling, rooster crowing, the Lodge Ladies skillet throw or even catch the greased pig!

9/28-10/26: PIGEON FORGE ROTARY CLUB CRAFTS FESTIVAL. Patriot’s Park. See and purchase handmade items from some of the area’s most talented artists and crafters.

10/5-6: 21st ANNUAL FALL SMOKY MOUNTAIN TROUT TOURNAMENT. Over 5,000 trout will be stocked in over 20 miles of streams and over $10,000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs.

10/10-27: GATLINBURG CRAFTSMEN’S FAIR. The Gatlinburg Convention Center blossoms into a multi-level mecca of the top craft people from all across the United States. Artisans demonstrate their special talents and skills during this show, which is recognized as one of the top 20 events in the Southern U.S. by the Southeast Tourism Society.

10/18-21: AUTUMN BRILLIANCE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP. Great Smoky Mountains Institute, Townsend. Demonstrations on Photoshop techniques, close-up techniques, and wildlife photography.

10/24: SPOOKTACULAR HALLOWEEN EVENT. Pigeon Forge Community Center hosts a safe, non-scary event for families to go trick or treating, plus enjoy entertainment and a haunted house.

10/26: APPALACHIAN BEAR RESCUE’S 2019 BEARLY 5K RUN/WALK. The event will start and end at ABR’s Visitor and Education Center at Trillium Cove Shopping Center, Townsend. Runners can enjoy a free breakfast after.
