November Events

11/23: 10TH ANNUAL HOLIDAY HOMECOMING.

Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, Townsend. 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Celebrate harvest, home, and the holidays with live music throughout the day, kids’ crafts, candy making demonstrations, Santa, and more! Admission is FREE for the entire family.

11/27-30: GATLINBURG’S FESTIVAL OF TREES.

The festival will feature a children’s craft area, play area, entertainment throughout the week, photos with Santa, and beautifully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains and the Gatlinburg Chamber Foundation.

11/29-12/21: WINTER SMOKY MOUNTAIN TUNES & TALES.

Gatlinburg. Through the holiday season, visitors can meet characters and storytellers and enjoy caroling along the Parkway Friday and Saturday evenings.


December Events

12/2: GREAT SMOKY CHRISTMAS ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW.

Gatlinburg. View unique handcrafted gifts and products from the Great Smoky Mountains craft community.

12/2-8: CHRISTMAS CRAFT SHOWS.

Gatlinburg. Christmas Craft Shows features gorgeous quilts, old-fashioned straw brooms with hand carved handles, exquisitely woven baskets, hand-dipped scented candles, Victorian ceramic pitchers, pottery, dulcimers, stuffed bears, and leather vests.

12/5-31: FESTIVAL OF TREES.

Blount County Courthouse, Maryville. Lighting ceremony at 6:30 PM with entertainment, refreshments, and visits with Santa Claus. The Blount County Courthouse lawn will be illuminated by live Christmas trees of all sizes, colors, and themes. This unique month-long event allows the community to enjoy the festival by driving by or walking through for a closer look.

12/5-8: HOUSE OF SANTA MOUSE.

The Blount County Arts and Crafts Guild annual member craft show has grown into the largest and most-recognized annual craft show of our local area. Over 50 Guild members participate and sell their items during this 3-day event. Fairview United Methodist Church, Maryville.

12/6: FANTASY OF LIGHTS CHRISTMAS PARADE.

Downtown Gatlinburg. The parade will feature sights and sounds of Gatlinburg’s Winter Magic. Floats will be decorated with one-of-a-kind displays of LED lights, marching bands, large balloons, dancers, and holiday characters.

12/6: HANDEL’S “MESSIAH.”

Clayton Center for the Arts, Maryville. Celebrate the Maryville College Bicentennial as Maryville College student and community ensembles will join forces to present Handel’s “Messiah”.

12/8: TOWNSEND CHRISTMAS PARADE.

On the Parkway in Townsend. Line up is at 1 p.m. with the parade beginning at 2:30 p.m.

12/8: REINDEER RUN 5K ROAD RACE & 1-MILE FUN RUN/WALK.

Maryville Municipal Parking Garage. Day of race check-in: 12:45-1:30 PM; 5K Race: 2:00 PM; 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk: 2:45 PM.

12/11-14: 2019 BLUEGRASS CHRISTMAS IN THE SMOKIES.

12/13: APPALACHIAN BALLET’S “THE NUTCRACKER.”

Clayton Center for the Arts, Maryville.

12/31: NEW YEAR’S EVE GATSBY GALA.

Capitol Theatre, Maryville. Hosted by and benefitting the Blount Habitat for Humanity, the gala includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, auction, casino tables, live band, and midnight champagne toast.
